Brown Eyeliner
Brown eyeliner is a great color choice as it suites everyone. It looks good with any color of eyes and is suitable for both daytime wear and for a special night out. Use less eyeliner in the daytime for a very natural look. Putting your liner on heavier can give you a sultry, mysterious look.

Black Eyeliner
Black liner is harsh looking, and unless you have a very dark complexion, it is best to wear this only for evening. For day wear, black eyeliner looks unnatural and severe and can exaggerate any little skin imperfections.

Types of Eyeliner

Pencils
Although they are easiest to use, eyeliner pencils pull your lids, if you do not hold your eyelids taunt.

Liquid Eyeliner
You'll need a steady hand to apply liquid eyeliner. Pencils are easier to apply, but liquid liner offers a great look as well.

Technique

• Draw a line as close as possible to your eyelashes.
• Work from the inner edge of your eye to the outer edge on the upper lid.
• Make sure your eyeliner pencil is sharp.
• Use a sponge brush and go back and forth over the liner gently, so you smudge the line for a softer look.
• Line the lower lid from the outside and taper to the inner edge. Again, smudge the liner.
