About Me
My name is Paula Weese and I live in Chicago IL. When I was a little girl I loved to draw and paint because I always preferred fantasy to real life.
My father, who was a creative force in his own right, would take me when I was in my teens to his amateur acting classes. It was there that I met my future mentor, Mr. Ed Meekin.
He was an acting coach who made his living as a makeup artist. It was here my journey began into the world of makeup and fantasy.
I still remember the excitement I felt learning how to create something new. And to this day it never stops being exciting and challenging. I feel at peace and totally absorbed when I’m painting someone’s face. I love helping women feel more confident about themselves. I feel blessed because I know not many people feel that way about their work.
After working for other people, I now work for myself along with two brilliant women photographers, who are also my dear friends. No one is luckier than myself.
In the early years I worked behind the counter selling makeup at Lancôme. But being young and shy, I soon learned that this was not the place for me. I then moved onto Marylyn Miglin and gave individual makeup lessons to clients who wanted to be more confident and sure of their application.
I loved teaching women to feel more confident because I feel we’re all sisters and need to help each other. That’s why I decided to do a website to answer questions and hopefully guide you to whatever you need to feel and look your best.
Now in the last 6 years I have been working freelance with E3 photography doing commercial print work, models for JRP Modeling School, Elite, Ford, many Chicago magazine covers, wedding bridal parties and even some local theater.
Whether it’s from a book, taking a class or talking to other artists, every day is different and I’m always learning something new.
I want everyone who visits my website to feel free to ask about anything concerning makeup or skincare. In time as I continually add new information, hopefully, there will be something for everyone.
Life can be hard sometimes, so we need to take that extra 5 minutes each morning to honor the goddess within us by putting our best selves forward.
Please don’t compare yourself to anyone- Honor your unique self and accent it with makeup.
